In this type of handicap, one of the teams is given an integer number of goals headstart (AH +1, AH +2, etc.), which, in turn, means that other team is handicapped by the same number of goals (AH -1, AH -2, etc.). The specific case is Zero handicap, AH (0), where none of the teams is given advantage; this handicap is also known as Draw No Bet, or DNB, we'll see later why.

We have three possible outcomes in this case: bet may be won, lost, or stake may be refunded, which is declared as "void" or "push". That means, you get your stake back - no profit, no loss, you break even.

The rule to settle bets is virtually the same as for European Handicap; the sole difference is that there is no Draw; if result, after adding handicap line, is draw, then the stake is returned - bet is void.

So, first you calculate Goal Supremacy. If your handicap applies to home team, Goal Supremacy is calculated as Home team goals minus Away team goals; if handicap applies to away team, Goal Supremacy is calculated as Away team goals minus Home team goals. Second, just add your handicap to the Goal Supremacy, and if result is positive, bet has won; if result is negative, bet has lost; and if result is zero, your bet has been void.

Please note that I carved term "Goal Supremacy" only for the purpose of easier understanding in this tutorial, so you should not confuse it with the same term that might be used in other sites.

Let's show this on example of match Sevilla vs. Valencia, which ended 4-3, thus robbing valencia of their place in Europa league.

If you had any bet on Sevilla, goal supremacy was +1; otherwise, if you placed any bet on Valencia, goal supremacy was -1.

Now, add supremacy to the handicap line you took. If result is positive (greater than zero), your bet has won; if result is negative (lower than zero), your bet has lost; and if result is exactly zero, you get your stake back, i.e., bet has been void.

Obviously, in case of zero handicap, AH0, handicap line does not impact the goal supremacy, so if home team wins, bet on home team AH0 is won and bet on away team AH0 is lost, and vice versa - if away team wins, bet on home team AH0 is lost, and bet on away team AH0 is won. If match ends in draw, bet is void, hence the name "Draw No Bet" - in case of actual draw, net profit/loss of your bet is zero, just as if you have never placed it.

So, if you had a bet on Sevilla -1 AH, your bet has been void; if you had a bet on Sevila -2 AH or any lower handicap, your bet was lost; if you had a bet on Sevilla with any positive handicap (+1 AH, +2 AH, etc.), your bet was won.

If you had a bet on Valencia +1 AH, your bet has been void; if you had a bet on Valencia +2 AH or any higher handicap, your bet was won; if you had a bet on Valencia with any negative handicap (-1 AH, -2 AH, etc.), your bet was lost.

If you had a bet on Sevilla AH0, your bet was won; if you had a bet on Valencia AH0, your bet was lost.

Tip

Those who keep detailed record of their betting activities (and any serious punter should do it) often wonder whether void bets should be included in their betting history or no - as explained earlier, they don't impact profit/loss, so should they be included in records, thus influencing ROI and Strike Rate? The answer is yes, they should be included. The bet on AH(0) was live throughout the match, and it happened that it outcome was zero; however, a late goal, or bad referee's decision, or injury of important player, etc., could have changed the outcome of your match - your stake was on the line, and it could have been won or lost instead of void. The result of 90 minutes of play was zero profit, so most punters count void bets as won with zero profit, which increases their strike rate, but decreases their ROI.

On the contrary, if the bet was void because the match had been postponed or cancelled prior the kick-off, then you should not count it - the match never started, your stake was never on the risk, so there is no need to include it in your records.
